Will Pierced Holes Close If They Are Left Free?
Good morning doctor, I want to ask 2 weeks ago I pierced my ear helix / cartilage as much as 2 holes, then had an infection and a long dry process, because I could not stand the end I took off the earrings, well after 3 days the wound dried and peeled itself, then I put the earrings, which I regret one hole too far down (away from one other hole), if I leave it free, I will not attach the earrings again, the hole can close again, right? thank you, please be willing to reply 🙂

We understand the inconvenience of your complaint.
Piercing or known as piercing is a small hole-making activity that is generally done in the ear area with the aim of attaching accessories such as earrings. Ideally, piercing is done with a sterile needle so that the healing process is protected from the risk of infection and other complications.
Ear piercing holes in the ear can close by itself if left free / without the use of earrings or other accessories, of course this can not be separated from various factors that support it including the size of the piercing that is not too large and the presence or absence of interference during the healing process. Scars can not close by themselves in a short time, but it takes several months to years for the piercing can close again by itself.
But if you want optimal results, do not hesitate to consult with a dermatologist to get the right treatment according to your condition.
