Wisdom Surgical Sutures After 1 Month Are Solid White?
Hello, good evening. I have about 1 month after wisdom teeth surgery. Are the stitches white? Or is there leftovers tucked away in the former stitches. Because several times I felt a bad smell in the area. Thank you
Hello. Thank you for the question submitted to HealthReplies.com. We can understand the concern you feel.
Wisdom tooth extraction is known as odentectomy. Generally, the recovery period after the action takes about 2-4 weeks until the condition of the former operation becomes like before the operation. However, the duration of the recovery period can be influenced by several factors, including the severity of wisdom teeth problems (for example, the growth of wisdom teeth that is not perfect), the extent of the surgical wound, and the patient's compliance in following the advice given by the post-action doctor. During the recovery period, the area of the former action will be filled with blood which then freezes, experiences swelling, pain, and gradually the symptoms decrease until they reach the state before the action.
We recommend that you check yourself back at the dentist who is treating you. Does not rule out the possibility that the object that appears white accompanied by the odor is a foreign object (example: food) that is tucked in the area of the former operation, abscess, or infection. As a recommendation, you are advised to use medicines that your dentist has prescribed, get enough rest, brush your teeth slowly and gently, gargle slowly with salt water, and avoid smoking.
