I want to ask.. there is a lump on my child’s knee and the X-ray results of my son have the word “tibial asteoid” what does that mean? I haven’t had time to go to an orthopedic doctor…rnThank you in advance…

1 Answer:

Hi Nanden. Did you mean tibial osteoid? In general, osteoid osteoma is a condition of the growth of benign bone tumors in long bones such as the shin bone (tibia), femur. However, you should still consult with your child's orthopedic doctor for more detailed information which must be adjusted to the clinical symptoms and physical examination of your child. This is because an examination like this is supportive and aims to strengthen the estimate of the existing diagnosis.

Consult again with an orthopedic doctor for more detailed information that is appropriate for your child's condition. Hopefully helpful, and thank you. Regards, Dr Alyssa
