Yellow Discharge After Ear Surgery?
I was discharged yesterday from ear surgery … I was diagnosed with OMK AS … kmrin 2 after the ear surgery came out blood continued … about 3 weeks and now it doesn’t bleed anymore … but the problem that comes out yellow liquid liquid from the ear is that normal. is that still part of the healing process
Chronic otitis media is chronic inflammation of the middle ear, usually due to a hole in the eardrum. Recurrent infections of the middle ear cause recurring suppuration, pain in the ear, ringing in the ears, and decreased hearing function.
Surgical measures for cases of chronic otitis media aim to reduce existing infections and repair the eardrum by tympanoplasty and mastoidectomy if needed. After the middle ear surgery, there are several things that need to be considered by the patient, namely as follows:
Avoid heavy activity in the first week
No swimming, playing heavy wind instruments for up to 1 month
Avoid straining or sneezing too tight
Postoperative pain usually has mild to moderate intensity. Patients can take pain-reducing medications that are usually prescribed by doctors.
Blood can occur from the ear up to a maximum of 1 week after surgery. The amount is not much. After that will be followed by the release of serous fluid (watery consistency) clear slightly cloudy color
The removal of odorous, pus-colored liquids, high fever, is abnormal and you should consult with an ENT specialist who is treating you. Thus the explanation from me, hopefully useful.
