Yellowish Stool While On A Diet?
Hello, my name is widya, I am 21 years old, I am on a diet during this fasting month. When breaking the fast I only drink coconut water and meat, plain water, and eat vermicelli or tempeh in a small portion and don’t use rice at the same time as sahur, and at dawn I drink lemon juice and 1 boiled egg. Is that good? And my stool turned a little bright yellow. What do doctors think? Thank you
Good afternoon Widya, thank you for asking at HealthReplies.com. Rice, especially white rice, is one type of carbohydrate that is often avoided because it is considered to cause fat. What you should know is that there are many sources of carbohydrates apart from rice, namely noodles, pasta, potatoes, bread, corn, including the vermicelli itself, which although the calorie content per 100 grams is lower than white rice, the difference is not significant (109 and 129 kcal). So what we want to say, replacing rice with other food sources will not be beneficial in the diet if more portions are consumed. But since you mentioned that the portions are small then it shouldn't matter.
Furthermore, what you need to know is that even though it is considered to cause fat because excessive carbohydrates are stored in the form of fat, the body still needs carbohydrates to provide energy for daily activities such as studying or working. The point here is that you don't need to be 'hostile' to rice. If you are in the mood for a diet, then just reduce your rice portion by half. Because rice is not always bad. For example, with the same weight of 100 grams, the calories provided by white bread are more than 2 times as much as white rice. In fact, so far people think that eating bread is not enough without eating rice.
Then, if what you say includes what you consumed during the time of breaking the fast until the end of the meal, then it will not meet your nutritional needs. By only consuming oranges and boiled eggs at dawn, you have the potential to become weak throughout the day because there are not many nutrients that can be absorbed from the menu apart from vitamins and protein, not even in large quantities.
In addition, you may be able to stick with this kind of diet during the fasting month, but it is impossible for you to just eat this way forever. Which means that even if you lose weight, it's only temporary.
So our advice, keep fulfilling your daily nutritional needs by eating 4 healthy 5 perfect foods. A good diet is a diet that can continue and become a lifestyle, not one that is impulsive for a while. Because if you suppress your food portions and lazy throughout the day when fasting is not even a good thing. It doesn't matter if you want to reduce the portion of rice, but increase the portion of vegetables, meat and fruit in your diet. It would be much better if you can take the time to exercise, which can be put about 30 minutes before breaking the fast, or after returning home tarawih at the fitness center or at home. Regarding the color of your own stool, this is not a problem because it does not indicate any disease.
So, hopefully it answers your question.
