Yesterday I Had A Fever And Today I Didn’t Have A Cold And A Blocked Nose
Sorry doc before, I had a high fever yesterday and was very dizzy, but today I don’t feel fever and dizzy anymore, what I feel now is coughing and nasal congestion, whether I have the common cold or corona, thank you before.
Hello, thank you for the question to HealthReplies.com
COVID-19 disease caused by corona virus (SARS-CoV-2), has the main symptoms of fever and dry cough. Other symptoms that can also occur are shortness of breath, weakness, cough with phlegm, muscle and joint pain, headache, sore throat. In most people, COVID-19 is indeed only showing mild symptoms such as infection of the common respiratory tract virus (colds). To be able to distinguish whether the symptoms you are experiencing are caused by infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus or an ordinary respiratory tract virus (rhinovirus), a PCR COVID-19 examination must be performed.
Examination for COVID-19 is still very limited in Indonesia, so the examination is only prioritized to be carried out on people who have clear exposure to sufferers of COVID-19 and also people who have clear symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath ). Because your symptoms are still not very clear (your fever only occurs a day and after it disappears), you have not been recommended to do an examination.
However, you are still advised to isolate yourself at home to reduce the risk of transmission. The following are some things that you should do:
Don't leave the house at all except for the purpose of seeing a doctor
Sleep in your own room (don't sleep with other people in your house), minimize contact and keep a safe distance with people in your home
Use a mask at all times unless you are in your own room
Cover your nose and mouth with the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze
Wash your hands often and disinfect objects in your house, especially those that you have just held
Do not eat from 1 plate with other people or use cutlery together
Enough sleep and rest, eat and drink enough, exercise enough, and don't smoke
Continue to monitor your symptoms, if you have a fever again and the fever occurs continuously and accompanied by shortness of breath, immediately call 119 ext 9 to find out further examination flow.
So much information from me, hopefully enough answer
